In Eli Aaron’s hidden room, Eli attacks Saint from behind and clamps a heavy hand around Saint’s throat. Saint’s gun falls behind her near the door, leaving Saint to fight with Saint’s body as Eli steadily crushes Saint’s windpipe.

As Eli whispers, Saint catches brief, horrifying details around the room: photographs of more girls hanging from wires, echoing the old barn and confirming the scale of Eli’s crimes. Eli remains unnervingly calm and methodical, leaning his full weight onto Saint as if fully committed to killing Saint rather than acting in panic.

Saint fights back by driving a knee into Eli, then kicking, thrashing, and scratching Eli’s face. The effort only briefly loosens Eli’s grip, and Saint begins to fade physically as Saint’s eyes redden and vision narrows.

With no time left for reflection on the people Saint loves or the life Saint has lived, the struggle is cut short by a gunshot. The shot blasts away part of Eli Aaron’s skull, abruptly ending Eli’s hold on Saint and turning the confrontation at the last possible moment.
