Jeff Nolan, CEO of Maximum Impact Solutions, reflects on the murder of Andrew Fairbanks and the damage it is doing to his company. Jeff already knows that Andrew’s death is connected to the earlier deaths of Bella Sanchez and Mark Gooch, and he believes François Loubet is behind all three. Jeff is less worried about the police than about losing wealthy clients, because public attention is making clients doubt his firm’s ability to protect them.

Actor Max Highfield visits Jeff to complain that the deaths are making him look bad and to hint that he may leave for Jeff’s former partner, Henk van Veen. Jeff tries to reassure Max by explaining that Amy Wheeler is in South Carolina making discreet inquiries into Andrew’s murder. During the conversation, it emerges that Amy once saved Max during a reckless, intoxicated episode, but Max remains self-absorbed and difficult. Jeff flatters him, tries to keep him loyal, and even plants the remark that Henk criticized Max’s gun handling in Rampage 7, giving Max a reason to resent Henk.

After Max leaves, he casually harasses Susan Knox, the company’s Head of HR, by slapping her. Susan makes clear that she objects, but she is more focused on the urgent business matter: Jeff has asked for the François Loubet file. The file reminds Jeff that MIS once worked for Loubet, a highly secretive money-smuggler, and that Jeff previously emailed Loubet after two clients were caught carrying large sums of cash through customs. In that email, Jeff warned that he believed a smuggling operation was targeting his clients and directly suggested that Loubet might be responsible.

Susan quickly sees the implication of Andrew Fairbanks being found with money and the pattern surrounding Amy Wheeler’s recent clients. When Jeff asks about Amy’s current assignment protecting Rosie D’Antonio, Susan confirms Amy is working with a local ex-Navy SEAL named Kevin. Susan advises Jeff that Amy’s recent client history now looks suspicious and that he should contact her immediately and bring her back to London, both because she may appear implicated and because she may be in danger. Jeff accepts the advice and decides to message Amy, while also reflecting on his dependence on Susan, his unresolved split from Henk, and the possibility that Loubet may lie behind more than just the murders.
