At Barb’s wellness retreat, Amy Wheeler sits through a nighttime fear-sharing session with Rosie D’Antonio. While Barb, who insists on being called Grey Panther, guides them with a gong, Amy is distracted by more urgent concerns: Steve’s arrival and the investigation into Sheriff Scroggie’s papers. Amy believes Scroggie killed Andrew Fairbanks on the boat, but Amy still needs evidence that could connect Scroggie directly to Francois Loubet or reveal who else is involved.

Rosie takes the exercise seriously and admits a series of fears, including aging, losing friends and lovers, being misunderstood, being remembered only for her glamorous image, and fearing both connection and life itself. Her answers expose a much more vulnerable and reflective side than Amy usually sees. Amy, by contrast, struggles to identify a deeper fear and finally admits that she is afraid of spiders, undercutting the intensity of the moment.

The session is interrupted by a noise in the woods. Amy immediately draws her gun and moves to protect Rosie, but the figure emerging from the trees is Steve. Amy greets him with obvious relief, and Rosie quickly shifts into flirtatious charm when introduced to him. Steve’s arrival gives Amy both emotional support and practical help, which she has been waiting for.

Steve brings a crucial new lead: airport CCTV footage showing Andrew Fairbanks being met and led away by a slim red-haired woman with a ponytail, who even carries one of his bags. The image confirms that Fairbanks did not simply vanish on his own and gives Amy, Steve, and Rosie a concrete person to investigate next. When Steve asks about Scroggie, Amy bluntly tells him the sheriff is dead, emphasizing how dangerous the situation has become.

Barb joins them, and Rosie jokingly reveals that Barb’s nickname comes from her supposed past in the East Coast barbiturates trade, explaining their long acquaintance. Amy then turns from retreat rituals back to action. She declares that someone is trying to kill her and that someone inside Maximum Impact is helping them, and she is ready to fight back. Steve, more measured, agrees to pursue clues first, but Amy is clearly strengthened by his arrival and eager to push the investigation forward.
