At the end of the school day, Addie arrives at her locker and finds that someone has cut off the lock. When she opens it, she discovers the locker has been packed with shaving cream, ruining everything inside and turning her humiliation into a public spectacle. Because Kenzie has been mocking Addie about shaving her legs, Addie immediately understands who is behind it, while nearby students gather to laugh.

Kenzie and Bella openly taunt Addie in front of the crowd. Eve Bennett pushes through the students, demands to know what happened, and presses Addie to name whoever did it. Addie refuses to identify Kenzie because she believes accusing her in public would only worsen her social standing and would not be believed. Eve dismisses the onlookers and coldly orders Addie to clean up the mess herself.

As Addie stands there overwhelmed, Kenzie keeps mocking her from down the hall, and Bella makes a cruel joke about self-harm. Hudson then arrives on his way to football practice and sees what happened. Although Kenzie tries to hurry him away, Hudson comes over, asks Addie what is wrong, and offers to help clean the locker.

Addie realizes that Hudson's help will only provoke Kenzie further, so she tells him to leave for practice despite his insistence. Hudson reluctantly obeys, but he looks back at Addie with visible sadness. His reaction makes Addie wonder whether he misses their old friendship as much as she does.
