Over dinner at Brock’s apartment, Brock tells Millie that a part-time receptionist position has opened at his law firm and asks if she is interested. Millie is tempted by the stability and benefits, but she immediately worries that a background check would expose her past and force the honesty she has been avoiding.

Millie reflects that it has been three days since she left Wendy in Albany, and that Douglas Garrick is due back from his business trip tomorrow. Millie tries to reassure herself the plan will still work, even as she considers how to quit the Garricks’ cleaning job without drawing attention.

Brock then says his parents are coming to town for a wedding and he wants Millie to have dinner with them. When Brock calls Millie “the woman I love,” Millie realizes she can’t keep postponing “The Talk” and decides to tell Brock everything.

Millie excuses herself to get water, but her phone rings with Wendy’s name. Whispering so Brock won’t hear, Millie answers and hears Wendy crying; Wendy says she is back and that “he brought me back,” then begs Millie to come to the penthouse.

Millie chooses Wendy’s emergency over her conversation with Brock, returns to the table, and claims she has to leave immediately. Brock, sensing Millie is hiding something, reassures her that whatever she needs to confess is “okay” and that he loves her regardless. Millie promises to talk the next night, tells Brock she loves him too, and leaves to rush to Wendy.
