Millie then confesses what happened the night of the shooting: she believed she saw “Douglas” strangling Wendy, grabbed the gun, and shot him to stop the attack. Distraught, Millie says the police think she killed Douglas Garrick, and even if she did not, she still shot someone who should be dead.
