Carl and Princess Donut return to the saferoom and find Mordecai transformed again, now a large, pink Hills Cyclops. Donut complains about missing her “spellbook of the floor” delivery, but Mordecai tells her she missed it; she instead receives a new spellbook, Mute, and is told to learn it for shutting down enemy casters.

Samantha arrives, restored from her earlier damage, and urgently demands Carl find a pulpmancer to animate the flesh golem in Carl’s inventory so she can regain a body. Mordecai privately warns Carl that Samantha’s growing capabilities are abnormal for a withering spirit and may be dangerous, urging Carl not to hand over the golem until they understand what is changing her.

As Donut worries about whether Prepotente will be punished for breaking the previous floor, Mordecai explains the failure is largely on the level’s designers and becomes tangled in Syndicate politics: skipped floors cost money, sponsors maneuver for profit, and the Valtay appear to be ramping up difficulty. Mordecai also confirms Carl and Donut successfully triggered larger conflict (“kickstarted a war”) and presses them to open their backlog of achievements and reward boxes.

Carl reviews notable achievements, including earning a Legendary Hunter Champion Box for leading the Butcher’s Masquerade hand-count, a Platinum Apostate Box for being marked by a god, and—most importantly—a Celestial Predator Box for killing the last hunter. Donut announces her own legendary boxes and enthusiasm, then bristles when she learns Carl received a celestial reward and she did not.

Donut opens her rewards first, pulling a mix of supplies and major upgrades: Phase Through Wall potions (kept for emergencies), a skill potion that boosts Love Vampire and adds automatic triggers, and a brush upgrade that further improves her daily Constitution buff. Key loot includes a Cosmic Buff potion (random +10 stat, which rolls Dexterity), a mercenary-services coupon worth 100,000 gold, a Flawless Jeweler’s Gem meant to upgrade her tiara at a jeweler, and two powerful spellbooks: Rigorous (a team buff that reflects debuff effects) and Tome of Legionnaires of the Damned (reanimating recently removed armor/weapons into wailing undead minions that may destroy the gear). She also receives an Enchanted Nipple Ring that can remove cursed items, grants major fire/lava protections, boosts fire damage, and provides a risky berserking spell, Bitch, What?; Mordecai warns her to use it only when alone. The scene ends with Mordecai turning to Carl to open his prizes next.
