Carl wakes after being knocked out from the barn collapse, shaken by a lingering dream of the river and the dying ogre’s eyes. Donut, still cleaning gore from her fur, scolds Carl for getting badly injured and warns that the lingering Woozy debuff makes it dangerous to move too soon.

Carl reveals the immediate problem is solved: Carl already has both deckmasters’ bodies in inventory, meaning the needed tokens weren’t lost over the cliff. Donut admits she also retrieved the fallen cards at the edge, including many from Sharp-Elbows’ deck, and she has already adjusted their deck.

Donut explains a major upgrade: she added the ogre woman’s magical staff card, which functions like a totem-like focus without taking a totem slot. If Donut imbues it with a spell before a fight, Donut can cast that spell once through the staff; Donut confirms it works after testing it during a quick zombie-turkey skirmish. Donut also announces they gained a unique, reusable combo card called Golden Combo, opening the door to repeating powerful combinations instead of consuming them.

As Carl’s head clears, Carl realizes Donut’s unusually stiff, rapid manner hides fear. Donut suggests Donut can do the last token fight alone or even skip it, but Carl presses until Donut admits the reason: Donut is sure the next opponent is someone Carl knows.

Donut explains Donut recognized the dented motorcycle outside the nearby trailer as the same one from the fourth-floor prize carousel, and Donut believes that means Carl’s father is inside. Carl hugs Donut, accepts that the dungeon is forcing these confrontations on everyone, and insists Donut should not try to become like Carl. With Donut back on Carl’s shoulder, they move toward the trailer to face “dad.”
