Ron and Bogdan visit Davey Noakes at his home to ask whether Holly Lewis’s recent meeting with him is connected to her death in the car explosion. The meeting is tense from the start: Davey is jovial, flirtatious and openly threatening, with a gun beside the breakfast beers. Even so, Ron and Bogdan press ahead because they believe Davey could have murdered Holly and taken Nick Silver to get control of the Bitcoin fortune.

Ron lays out the theory directly. Ron and Bogdan say Holly and Nick were finally preparing to cash out roughly £350 million in Bitcoin, that Davey could have learned Holly’s half of the code, and that Nick may now be imprisoned somewhere while someone tries to force the rest from him. Davey listens, jokes about killing them, and tests how far they will go, but he does not lose control of the conversation.

Davey then explains why he thinks their theory is wrong. He says he was the person who paid Holly and Nick twenty thousand pounds in Bitcoin more than ten years earlier, so he has known about the money all along and discussed it with them for years. Because the Bitcoin originally came from him, Davey argues that he had a decade to steal it back if he wanted it, and that Holly’s bombing also does not fit his methods because, in his view, if he killed someone there would be no visible trace.

Once Davey has weakened Ron’s accusation, he turns the pressure back on them and demands to know who else Holly and Nick consulted. When Ron keeps refusing, Davey fires a warning shot into the air, forcing Ron to admit that they also spoke to a lord, likely Lord Townes. Davey urges them to look there instead of only suspecting him, then ends the meeting with a final destabilizing question: are they absolutely sure Nick Silver is dead?
