Lucy wakes before sunrise in Ben’s bed after they have had sex twice. As she gets dressed, she has her familiar intrusive thought about how easy it would be to kill a sleeping man, and Savvy’s voice comments on it. Lucy throws away her ripped underwear, realizes she left her car at the bar, and walks there in the heat while criticizing her own choices, especially sleeping with Ben without a condom.

On the walk and drive home, Lucy reflects that she cannot blame alcohol because she was not drunk enough to excuse what happened. Lucy finally replies, and Ben immediately calls. Their conversation is flirtatious but uneasy: Ben complains that Lucy left without waking him, Lucy teases him for sleeping with the murder suspect from his own podcast, and they both acknowledge that neither of them is known for good decisions. Lucy also directly raises the fact that they did not use a condom, and Ben apologizes.

Ben then shifts to the real reason for calling. He says he is assembling a bonus episode using the material he recorded with Matt and wants Lucy to hear it first and veto it if she wants.
