In Gretchen and Randy’s bathroom, Sydney hyperventilates after realizing the hidden bag of ribbon-tied hair likely proves Randy murdered Bonnie and possibly other women. She regrets not telling Jake everything earlier and wishes she had her phone so she could call him immediately. Because her purse is in the living room and Randy may become suspicious if she stays away too long, Sydney hides the hair again, steadies herself, and decides she must act normal until she can protect Gretchen and contact the police.

When Sydney returns, Randy and Gretchen are cuddling on the couch. Sydney tries to leave at once, but Gretchen happily insists that she stay for cake because it is her engagement night. Sydney looks for a way out without exposing what she knows, while also noticing that Randy seems strangely sleepy, with his eyelids drooping.

A sudden pounding at the apartment door interrupts them, and Tom shouts that Sydney is inside. Gretchen goes to the door and lies that Sydney is not there, while Tom keeps demanding to be let in and threatens to call the police. Sydney grabs her purse to find her phone, but it is missing, and she is hit by another wave of dizziness despite having only one glass of wine. At the same time, Randy appears to have drifted fully asleep on the sofa.

The confrontation escalates when Tom starts shouting the name “Daisy” through the door and orders Daisy not to hurt Sydney. Confused, Sydney asks Gretchen why Tom is calling her that. Gretchen then admits that there are things Sydney does not know about her and turns the lock, preparing to open the door and revealing that she has been hiding an important secret.
