While at work, Millie Accardi receives a midday call from her children’s school, which immediately spikes her anxiety because school calls usually mean emergencies. She is stuck on a difficult phone call with a patient’s family and can’t answer before it goes to voicemail.

Millie listens to the message from Margaret Corkum, the principal of Frost Elementary School, asking her to call back right away. Millie returns the call with shaking hands, bracing for bad news.

Principal Corkum tells Millie that Nicolas is “fine,” but insists Millie come to the school immediately and says it is better discussed in person. When Millie learns Enzo Accardi has also been contacted and is already on his way, Millie drops her work obligations and heads to the school at once.
