Adrienne also thinks through other signs of Patriciab4s antisocial behavior, including suspicious deaths and injuries around her, and makes clear that she has deliberately used what Patriciab4s mother told her to control Patricia.

At the door, Patricia reports that EJ is unconscious in the back seat after she seduced him at a casino, drugged him, checked him out of his hotel with his phone, and moved his car so no one will quickly notice he is missing. Adrienne confirms that Patricia tied and gagged EJ, then helps drag him into the house and into Adrienneb4s office. Patricia notices the room feels different because Adrienne has moved the sofa, but Adrienne hides the real reason and insists she will handle EJ alone.

Patricia presses to know Adrienneb4s plan, but Adrienne sends her away, deciding this will be the last time she trusts Patricia with anything. Instead of beating EJ, Adrienne opens a hidden floor compartment in her office, a space she had cleared out in advance. She rolls EJ into the compartment and shuts the panel over him. When EJb4s muffled screams continue, Adrienne decides simple confinement is too risky, so she tapes the edges of the panel shut, cutting off his air. She sits and listens until the sounds fade completely, then says goodbye to Edward, confirming that she has murdered him.
