Adrienne and Luke shop for groceries together, and Adrienne reflects on how supermarkets are designed to manipulate people into buying more than they planned. Luke treats the outing playfully and kisses Adrienne in the middle of the aisle. Adrienne allows herself to enjoy the moment because, in the week since Luke deleted the blackmail video from EJ's phone and computer, her life has seemed to stabilize. Luke has stayed with her almost continuously, EJ has not contacted her, and Adrienne feels happier and more hopeful than she has in a long time.

The mood shifts when one of Adrienne's patients, Gail, recognizes her in the store. Adrienne is embarrassed to be seen kissing Luke in public, but Gail warmly praises Adrienne's work as her psychiatrist.
