At three in the morning, Tricia wakes after only a short stretch of sleep. Ethan had helped her earlier by bringing her water, but Tricia still cannot rest, partly because she keeps needing the bathroom. Tricia privately reveals that she is pregnant and has been urinating frequently, a symptom Ethan noticed but whose cause she has not told him.

Unable to sleep, Tricia looks out the bedroom window and sees that the snow has buried the property so deeply that leaving by car is impossible. Because the weather has trapped them and cell service is still out, Tricia feels even more isolated in Adrienne Hale’s house.
