Tegan drifts in and out of feverish sleep as Polly intermittently tends her ankle and coaxes a few sips of water. Weak, in pain, and fearing for her baby, Tegan hopes for an ambulance but doubts Polly will call one.

Hank arrives in the basement and, despite Tegan’s fear, lifts her, saying they must reach the hospital before Polly returns. Outside, Tegan hallucinates Simon by the truck, panics, and accuses Hank of collusion; the vision vanishes, underscoring her delirium.

In the truck, Tegan distrusts Hank’s promise to go to Roosevelt Memorial and tries to signal for help at a red light, but he restrains the window and continues driving. She briefly blacks out, then sees the hospital ahead.

At the entrance, Hank pauses to insist Polly is a good person and begs Tegan not to ruin Polly’s life, revealing his divided loyalties even as he rescues Tegan. He flags help; staff load Tegan onto a stretcher, press an oxygen mask to her face, and she loses consciousness.
