In the Feverstone Keep vision, Dalinar reels as Odium appears, while the Stormfather grows distant and subdued. Odium invites conversation, explains there are three relevant powers—Honor, Cultivation, and himself—and says he is shackled. He claims he could leave if Dalinar released him by Intent and states he would then kill Cultivation, noting he cannot abandon Honor’s Splinters.

Odium challenges Dalinar’s ethics by comparing Dalinar’s seizure of Alethkar to his own aims. He reframes himself as Passion—emotion incarnate—contrasting Honor’s fixation on oaths and Cultivation’s indifference to pain. Odium asserts the Radiants fell to passion, and insists Dalinar has already met Cultivation, but that she erased the memory.

Dalinar offers a contest of champions with terms to be set, but Odium refuses, saying Dalinar will eventually release him. When Dalinar vows to fight, Odium reveals a glimpse of his true nature: overwhelming, violet-black, burning power that nearly destroys Dalinar’s composure, reducing the world to insignificance by comparison.

Odium resumes his old-man mask, comforts the shaken Dalinar, then senses something and abruptly vanishes. Dalinar recognizes the figure as only a face for a far greater force.

Lift emerges from hiding, calls Odium creepy, and asks about the food at Urithiru. She says she will speak to Gawx and visit, but asks Dalinar not to tell Gawx about Odium. The vision ends.
