Summary
On a Sunday morning, Sarah Morgan navigated a gauntlet of reporters outside her secluded home, hoping the media frenzy would pass soon. After unloading groceries, she checked on Alejandro, the handyman staining her deck, and noticed signs he had been inside while she was gone. When Alejandro got a splinter, Sarah brought him in and carefully removed it, observing his tattoos and demeanor up close.
As Sarah worked the splinter out, Alejandro remarked that he had overheard Sarah’s argument with Bob the previous day and had wanted to intervene. Sarah confirmed she was divorcing Bob. Their charged conversation culminated in Alejandro leaning in and kissing Sarah, which she reciprocated briefly before they were interrupted.
Summer came home mid-moment, followed by Bob heading straight to the bathroom. Sarah noticed a fresh bruise on Summer’s chin. Questioning revealed Bob had left Summer alone for around three hours the previous night, during which she injured herself trying to reach peanut butter. Sarah was furious; Bob dismissed the concern, calling Sarah overprotective.
The confrontation escalated as Sarah accused Bob of being untrustworthy as a husband and father and threatened to curtail his visitation. Bob responded that he would seek full custody and made a chilling insinuation that Sarah could end up “in prison,” which Sarah took as a threat. Sarah ordered him out.
Alejandro stepped in from the deck and firmly told Bob to leave, reinforcing Sarah’s demand. Bob backed off, saying he had “loose ends to tie up,” and departed. Alejandro apologized for the intrusion and went to use the restroom, while Sarah tried to calm herself.
Moments later, a knock sounded at the door. Expecting Bob, Sarah opened it ready to continue the fight, only to find Eleanor on her doorstep, greeting her with a smug grin. Sarah addressed her by name, signaling a longstanding and fraught relationship.
