Sarah Morgan meets Anne at a coffee shop to decompress after a contentious Morgan Foundation board meeting where Bob openly opposed Sarah. Summary
Sarah Morgan and Anne sit down in a quirky coffee shop near the office and debrief the recent foundation board meeting. Anne remarks that Bob voted opposite Sarah on every issue and seemed to have a bleeding hand. Sarah explains that Bob snapped a red pen, noting his habit of using red ink as a power move, and attributes his conduct to anger over the divorce.
Anne asks about post-divorce plans and whether Bob will remain on the board. Sarah says she hopes Bob will agree to step down as part of the settlement but that he has not agreed to anything, including the divorce itself. Anne criticizes Bob for making things harder given his actions and the ongoing case.
Anne shares that Sheriff Travis Hudson called to schedule questioning about the Summers case. Sarah confirms that with the investigation reopened, reinterviewing connected individuals is standard protocol, even though over a decade has passed and memories may be limited. Anne asks if Sarah is worried about the possibility that Adam did not kill Kelly Summers.
Anne reflects that learning Adam was innocent would be devastating and hard to live with, and she expresses empathy for Sarah. Sarah admits she is trying not to think about it. Anne reassures Sarah of her support and squeezes her hand, affirming she is there for her no matter what.
The conversation is interrupted when Sarah receives a text from Bob that reads as a threat: he claims to know what Sarah is doing and warns her to stop or he will stop it permanently. Sarah hides the message, telling Anne it is a spam text, while internally acknowledging that Bob’s threats may not be empty.
