Determined to help, Dabbid leads Rlain through hidden passages, evading patrols with Rlain’s rhythms, and meets Lift at a planned rendezvous. Together they reach Kaladin’s secured room; Lift infuses the gemstone to open the door.

Inside, they find Kaladin delirious with a severe, rotspren-ridden infection. Lift surges Stormlight to him, driving back the infection and knitting flesh until Kaladin rests peacefully. Exhausted, Lift notes some abilities fail her, but healing still works.

Rlain presses Dabbid about his silence. Dabbid admits he could speak and feared being treated as “wrong,” hoping Radiance might “fix” him as the tower-spren once implied. Lift frames him as “touched,” defending his right not to explain.

As they swap blankets, Lift heals Teft, who wakes confused but stable. Moments later, Kaladin awakens to friends at his side. Relief sweeps the group. Dabbid, while neither Radiant nor soldier, feels he has finally returned Kaladin’s past salvation with a crucial act.
