With Pac-12 swimming and diving held separately, Scarlett and Pen travel on offset schedules. At SFO, Pen spots the men’s team landing and heads to greet them with Bella and Bree, while Scarlett stays with the bags and avoids prying into Bree and Dale’s sudden breakup and Bella’s ongoing relationship with Devin.

Scarlett centers a new, non–all-or-nothing mindset, focusing on intentional choices and mental quiet. She and Pen compete in 10 m synchro and place first, then celebrate with Coach Sima, FaceTime Victoria to credit her training, and cheer the twins for earning bronze on 3 m synchro. High on the win, they get henna tattoos of two divers with “DIVING BESTIES.”

Later, while brushing their teeth, they discover the tattoos read “DIVING BEASTIES,” a goofy error that becomes part of their shared lore. The next day, Pen wins platform gold and Scarlett earns bronze, and they give joint pool-deck interviews with the misspelled henna on display, relishing the joy of the meet.

The following week at the Zone E meet, both Scarlett and Pen secure NCAA qualifications. The results affirm Scarlett’s healthier approach and reinforce the strength of her partnership with Pen.
