The moment also reinforces Paedyn and Adena's friendship, especially Paedyn's reliance on the practical vest Adena made for her thieving.

Before leaving, Paedyn warns Adena that there are fewer guards than usual in the area and says the change feels wrong. Adena teases Paedyn about her fake Psychic act, but Paedyn is serious and wants Adena alert. After they part, Paedyn heads into Loot Alley and resumes stealing, moving from easy targets like fruit and fabric to more valuable items such as wallets, watches, and coins.

While working the market, Paedyn notices a tall, black-clad stranger who clearly does not belong in the slums. His confidence, expensive appearance, and visible coin pouch make him an ideal target, so Paedyn follows him, cuts him off on a quieter street, and deliberately crashes into him. When the stranger catches her, Paedyn uses the contact to slip several coins from his pouch while studying him closely: his chest tattoo, gray eyes, calloused hands, scars, and fighter's build all suggest he is dangerous and likely an Elite.

The stranger flirts instead of accusing Paedyn, and Paedyn plays along to keep his attention off the theft. Their exchange is charged, with both of them testing each other while Paedyn quietly hides the stolen coins. After thanking him and retreating into the crowd, Paedyn leaves with a successful haul and keeps thinking about the stranger's scars, strength, and unsettling appeal, sensing that this encounter was more significant than an ordinary theft.
