Kai and Paedyn begin by taunting each other in the training yard, turning their usual flirtation into a hand-to-hand spar. As the spar continues, their attraction and rivalry blur together. They trade blows in front of the cheering crowd, with Paedyn fighting to win and Kai consciously restraining his strength. Kai eventually throws Paedyn over his shoulder and pins her wrists to the ground, but Paedyn calls out his mercy directly and makes clear that she knows he has been going easy on her.

Using Kai’s hesitation against him, Paedyn suddenly headbutts him, breaks free, and leaves him with a broken nose. She follows with another rapid sequence of attacks, flips him, and pins him to the ground instead. Drawing a knife from her boot, Paedyn presses the advantage and makes her point plain: she does not want Kai’s protection or mercy, only an honest fight.

After the match, Kai praises Paedyn and says she is more enjoyable to spar with than Kitt, inviting another bout in the future. Paedyn answers that she will always take the chance to beat him, then proves her seriousness by hurling her knife past him as she walks away. Her final warning is that the next time they fight, Kai should stop holding back and truly impress her.
