After Hunt departs the temple's inner sanctum, Bryce confronts Ruhn about whether the Autumn King could be behind the murders and the kristallos summoning. Ruhn insists their father isn't responsible—he's merely exploiting the situation to restore Fae glory. Bryce accepts this reasoning but remains hostile toward Ruhn, making clear that their cooperation doesn't repair their fractured relationship. She hurls his past insult—calling her a "half-breed slut"—back at him, and Ruhn admits it was said in a "dumb fight" but Bryce refuses to forgive him, accusing him of being no different from the elitist Fae despite his rebellious appearance.

Bryce storms out of the sanctum and tells Hunt they're leaving. Hunt notices the tension but wisely says nothing. Bryce rushes back to Griffin Antiquities, spurred by a barrage of threatening messages from Jesiba about her absence. She handles a lecherous leopard-shifter client who purchases a statue of the Embrace—a depiction of Solas and Cthona that Bryce's mother reveres but Bryce finds cheesy—while fending off his advances.

With the client gone, Bryce spends the rest of the day searching the gallery's databases for information on Luna's Horn, but finds nothing beyond what she and Ruhn already knew. Lehabah also has no useful intel. Ruhn heads to the Fae Archives to continue his search using his Starborn abilities, while Hunt takes the rooftop to call Micah and Isaiah about the Horn, giving Bryce space she clearly needs.

Bryce reflects on the directive to "look toward where it hurts the most" and forces herself to finish the list of Danika's known locations in the days before her death. Exhausted and emotionally drained, she walks home with Syrinx while Hunt follows silently from the skies. She is in bed by eight and falls asleep immediately.
