On a Friday at the library, Daphne agonizes over budget cuts to the fall book order, refusing to drop a fantasy novel she picked for Maya, a shy preteen who reminds her of her younger self. Her coworker Ashleigh, the adult librarian, storms out of the office venting that motherhood has killed her social life. Watching Sadie merely 'like' her staged photo with Miles, and stewing over Peter and Petra's social media posts from her old neighborhood, Daphne impulsively tells Ashleigh she's free that night.

Ashleigh proposes Chill Coast Brewing in Arbor Park, but Daphne, desperate to avoid Peter's territory, blurts out Cherry Hill—the winery where Miles works—as an alternative. Seeing them so in love prompts Daphne to wonder whether Miles would take Petra back, and whether she would take Peter back—she answers herself aloud: definitely not.

At Cherry Hill, Daphne is stunned by the winery's beauty, admitting Peter wasn't a wine guy and quietly realizing all her friends were really his. Ashleigh reveals her ex-husband is named Duke. They claim seats at the crowded bar, where Daphne watches Miles work with easy charm. When Ashleigh calls him the 'hot drug dealer,' Daphne accidentally outs that she knows him. Miles strolls over, leans across the bar, and greets Daphne as his 'adoring girlfriend,' leaving Ashleigh bewildered.
