On Sunday, August 4th, Daphne wakes late to find Miles still in her bed. They spend a languid, dreamy day together, drinking coffee on the rug, walking to a sandwich shop, getting soft-serve ice cream, and visiting the farmers' market to gather ingredients.

Back at Miles's apartment, he cooks cauliflower tacos while Daphne assists. After dinner, he pulls her into his lap and kisses her unhurriedly. He invites her to sleep over with an open invitation anytime.

They make love slowly in his bed, and Daphne is overwhelmed by the emotional intensity. She feels her usual protective layer between herself and the world dissolve, leaving her raw.
