Three days after the staged shoplifting scare, Millie lies awake, preoccupied with Andrew and the fallout from Nina revealing Millie’s criminal past. She wanders to the kitchen at night and notices the back porch light; Andrew is outside drinking alone.

Millie joins Andrew and apologizes for hiding her past, explaining embarrassment and a desire to move on. Andrew initially asks what she was imprisoned for, then withdraws the question. They both admit their night together made them feel unexpectedly happy, and the mutual attraction culminates in a brief kiss before Andrew pulls back, saying he can’t continue.

Millie leaves Andrew on the porch and heads upstairs, still reeling from the kiss. At the top of the stairs, she is startled by Nina standing in the dark hallway, who interrogates her about why she’s up and whether Andrew is in bed.

Millie lies, claiming she only came for water and that she didn’t speak to Andrew, though she suggests he might be on the porch. Nina, clearly skeptical, goes to check on Andrew.
