On June 10, 1975, Poppy ran through the woods with her movie camera still filming, terrified after witnessing something involving Danny that she believed was wrong. Danny chased her, tackled her near the edge of their yard, pinned her legs, and wrenched the camera from her hand, injuring her fingers. He hurled the camera into the trees, where it crashed and shattered.

Danny dragged Poppy into the house and into his bedroom, where they confronted each other. Poppy demanded to know how long the situation had been going on and insisted it was wrong, while Danny ordered her not to tell anyone. When Poppy said she would tell if he did not, Danny threatened, “If you do, I’ll fucking kill you,” and Poppy believed he meant it.

Noticing Poppy was bleeding from the knee, Danny handed her a tissue, but remained adamant she keep the secret. Poppy left the room shaken, intending to retrieve the camera and safeguard the film as evidence until she could force Danny to tell the truth.

Outside Danny’s room, Poppy encountered Vincent (Vince), who had apparently overheard something and demanded to know what Danny had said, particularly if it was about him. Poppy pulled away from Vincent’s painful grip and retorted that he only wished it was about him, then hurried back outside to search for her camera and hide the film.
