After showering, Dominic immediately notices that Claire's clothes and other belongings are missing from the cupboard where he has kept them. He goes downstairs, where Raff and Orly are starting dinner, and briefly checks on Raff's injured wrist. Raff's improving hand reassures Dominic, but Dominic is preoccupied by the missing items.

When Dominic asks about the things from his cupboard, Orly does not even know that any of Claire's possessions were still being kept there. Raff explains that Fen has been taking them for some time. That answer forces Dominic to confront how selfishly he has held on to Claire's belongings, keeping them hidden instead of sharing them with Claire's children, and how little he has noticed Fen's feelings and actions.

Shaken and ashamed, Dominic realizes he needs to find Fen, make sure she is all right, and apologize for both his neglect and his possessiveness. He decides that Claire's jewelry and clothes should have belonged to Fen all along. When Rowan appears and senses the tension, Dominic proposes that they take dinner down to the beach and eat with Fen. The boys are excited, and Rowan warmly approves, turning Dominic's guilt into a first concrete step toward reconnecting with his daughter.
