As a highstorm batters Dalinar’s complex, Navani clings to him, relieved he has returned. Dalinar lets a new vision take him despite his shaken faith. He appears on a plain of smoke and bone-white rock, recognizing it as the place from his first vision, and again hears the command to unite them.

The vision shifts to a barren field overlooking ruined Kholinar. A shadow like a wrong highstorm approaches, and Dalinar confronts the golden-clad figure—only to realize the man cannot hear him. The responses are fixed, and Dalinar understands the visions are not conversations but prerecorded messages; he had misread them, including assumptions about trusting Sadeas.

The ground collapses into darkness, leaving Dalinar and the figure on a lone stone pinnacle. The figure explains most scenes are memories, others fears—this one showing a possible True Desolation. Dalinar, moved, volunteers to lead, unite, and protect. The figure recites the Radiant Ideals and declares the Knights Radiant must return.

The figure urges humanity to act together, suggests forcing their enemy to choose a champion bound by rules, and laments the absence of the Dawnshards. Finally, he reveals his identity: the Almighty, now dead—slain by Odium. The vision ends, leaving Dalinar with a dire charge and a clarified purpose.
