Outside the Northwest house, Serena confronts the strange young Were who approached her after the doctors’ visit. He looks harmless but speaks to Serena with unsettling devotion, calls her “Eva,” and insists he has always known her through “the blood and the word.” When Serena presses for answers, the young Were refuses to explain directly and instead urges Serena to come with him so that “she” can tell Serena who she really is.

Serena refuses to go anywhere with a stranger and keeps her knife ready. The young Were claims that Serena has never truly been alone and speaks in prophetic, cult-like language about Serena being “made” and the beginning of something larger. He rejects ordinary Were boundaries such as packs, species, and borders, which makes Serena even more suspicious. His words suggest that a hidden group has been waiting for Serena and believes she holds extraordinary importance.

Koen arrives and positions himself protectively behind Serena, making clear that the trespasser is not Northwest and could be killed for entering the territory. The young Were insists he would never hurt “one of us,” objects to Koen touching Serena, and says Koen is unworthy of her. He also reveals that others wanted to take Serena and spill blood, but that he argued Serena would come willingly if she knew they were waiting. Serena still refuses, and Koen shifts from protective to openly threatening.

As the confrontation escalates, the young Were says that if Serena will not join him, then he was wrong and must pay the price. He tells Koen that “Constantine” will see him shortly and asks whether Koen is truly his parents’ son, which visibly enrages Koen. When Koen moves to catch him, the young Were does not flee into the forest. Instead, he runs to the cliff and jumps to his death on the rocks below, leaving Serena and Koen with no answers and with stronger evidence that Serena’s past is tied to a fanatical, organized force.
