In the hidden chamber beneath Hybern’s castle, Feyre finally comes face-to-face with the Cauldron. Its presence feels both empty and all-powerful, and the object immediately affects everyone in the room. Mor urges Feyre to act quickly, while Azriel and Cassian stay alert, sensing danger as Feyre approaches the dais.

When Feyre touches the Cauldron, she is flooded with pain, power, and a vast sense of creation itself. Holding one half of the Book of Breathings, Feyre feels the Book and the Cauldron communicating through her, and the second half of the Book calls to be reunited. Feyre realizes Amren had been wrong about one crucial point: one half alone is not enough, and only the complete Book has the power to counter the Cauldron.

Understanding there is no time to move the Cauldron and that the spell must be attempted immediately, Feyre pulls out the second half and places it on top of the first. Mor realizes the danger and tries to stop her, but Feyre acts before anyone can intervene. Once the two halves are joined, Feyre is overwhelmed, losing her sense of self as she becomes a channel between the Book and the Cauldron.

Trapped inside that state, Feyre struggles to remember the spell and cling to her own identity instead of becoming a tool of the ancient powers flowing through her. She searches her memory for the words she had memorized, trying to use them as a way back to herself. Before she can complete the attempt, Azriel grabs her and violently pulls her away, restoring her awareness.

As Feyre recovers, bleeding from the nose and disoriented, footsteps sound above them. Azriel immediately shields her as a handsome human male descends the stairs. Feyre recognizes the male’s eyes from the eye preserved in crystal and realizes with shock that the newcomer is Jurian, now somehow alive and standing before them.
