When Nesta presses Feyre to be the one to search instead, Feyre reveals why she cannot: she is pregnant. The revelation transforms the tense gathering into celebration as Cassian, Azriel, Amren, and Rhys react with joy. Rhys stresses that Nesta has a choice, but also that time is running out. Knowing Elain will otherwise be drawn in, Nesta agrees to scry for the Trove herself.

Afterward, Feyre catches Nesta alone in the foyer and waits with her for Cassian. In a private gesture of trust, Feyre tells Nesta before anyone else that the baby is a boy and explains that the Bone Carver once showed her the child she would have with Rhys.
