Carl opens The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook and learns its true rules. The book is a hidden, inherited guide created under special conditions, invisible to viewers and showrunners but not to the System AI. Carl is warned that he must never reveal the book, must make any discoveries look self-taught, and must add his own knowledge to a special scratchpad page for the next edition. A few pages show him how valuable the book could be, but he forces himself to stop reading before he becomes consumed by it.

As Carl, Donut, and Katia watch the recap episode, Carl thinks through the consequences of Mordecai’s suspension and concludes they can no longer rely on him for answers. He decides that, despite the bounty on them, they need more contacts and shared information rather than isolation. A system announcement introduces sponsor tabs and warns that some train lines are temporarily down. Donut wants to go party at the Desperado Club, while Katia stays behind to buy a craft table and work.

Carl and Donut enter the club with Mongo in his carrier. At the door, Clarabelle confirms Mordecai’s suspension, hints that Mordecai still hates Chaco, and sells Carl expensive private security because Carl and Donut are both bounty targets. Inside, Carl spots Elle, who now appears as a much smaller, floating Frost Maiden with blue skin and an altered, bolder personality. Elle remembers Carl and Donut, jokes freely, and explains that she chose her race partly because Carl had told Brandon about the manager benefit.

Over drinks, Elle tells Carl that twenty members of her group remain alive and that only she and Imani have access to the club. Imani soon arrives, transformed into an Obsidian Butterfly and Fire Spiritualist with large ethereal wings and a support role. When Carl asks about Brandon’s message, Imani explains that Chris changed after choosing a rock race, became obsessed with hunting and violence, and split from Brandon after an argument about whether to seek Carl and Donut or stay near the stairwell and train. Several men left with Chris, and Brandon later died protecting the group during an escape caused by a chaotic monster outbreak.

Imani warns Carl that Chris is still alive, is not answering her group, and is looking for Carl. Carl appreciates the warning and starts to bring out Mordecai’s train-station map so they can compare notes and join each other’s chats. Before they can continue, a sudden disturbance erupts on the dance floor. Carl turns to find both hired guards down, Donut swaying with her health in the deep red after her cockroach survival skill has triggered, and a human crawler bleeding out from a fatal slash across the neck. The man dies, and a skull appears beside Donut’s name, marking a major and dangerous turn for her.
