Overview
Kaan’s invitation leads Raeve through a hidden route to an isolated cliffside home he has prepared as a gift for her. Although Raeve initially fears a trap, the chapter resolves that tension by turning the meeting into a clear emotional choice: Kaan offers her safety and freedom, and Raeve chooses him without hesitation.

Summary
On aurora fall, Raeve finds that Kaan has left no carving or meal, only a half-folded parchment lark and a rusted key. After she folds the final activation line, the lark comes to life and leads Raeve down stairs near Slátra’s hutch, through a hidden tunnel, and out to the pebbled shore beside the turquoise Loff as a storm approaches.
When the rain begins to soak the fragile guide, Raeve cups the parchment lark in her hands and follows its nudges through a crooked route in the jungle. The secrecy of the path makes Raeve wary, and she briefly fears the journey could be an ambush by someone hoping to kill her for the Aether Stone.
Instead, the lark leads Raeve to a dwelling carved into a cliff, hidden so completely that she believes no one else could find it. Inside, Kaan waits at a stone table set for two with colk and canit root stew. Kaan tells Raeve that the hidden home is his gift to her, but he makes clear that he will leave forever if she wishes. Raeve answers by going to him at once, choosing him and their connection rather than distance.
