Juan noticed Molly’s distinctively stacked toilet paper pyramid on the trolley in the hallway and asked Lily about it. Lily said she would handle the trolley but first went to the hotel bar to get tea towels for Angela.

Angela corroborated that Lily came to the Social bar; Angela spilled a cranberry soda onto the toilet paper pyramid, and as Angela and Lily tossed out the soaked rolls, Lily discovered the Fabergé egg nestled within the middle row. They covered the egg with a tea towel and immediately phoned Mr. Snow, who then called Detective Stark and Molly.

Detective Stark summarized that the egg had been found in Molly’s trolley but insisted on the full timeline to identify when it could have been planted. The group agreed that while Cheryl often pilfered, the sophistication of both the theft and the egg’s return did not fit Cheryl’s style. Stark concluded the egg was planted in Molly’s trolley the previous night as part of a professional operation and that Molly was intended to find it.

Mr. Snow asked about next steps. Stark explained the theft remained a crime but would be harder to prove now that the item was returned. She checked Molly’s trolley for any note and recovered a single square of toilet paper with a message. Stark read it aloud: “Dear Molly, Sell the egg or you die.”
