Summary
As Tinos swarms with departures, Darrow readies to board a shuttle with Sevro and Mustang. The Sons of Ares coordinate a colossal evacuation, moving hundreds of thousands—Obsidian families to safety while warriors head to orbit. Darrow plans to cover the evacuation with the fleet, then burn for Jupiter. Dancer and Quicksilver will remain on Mars to hold the Jackal in place.
Darrow and Dancer share a quiet farewell, reflecting on Fitchner’s legacy and the purpose of the Rising. Dancer calls Darrow a good man; Darrow, fearing what war requires, counters by naming Dancer the movement’s heart and embracing him. The exchange affirms their roles: Dancer anchoring the cause, Darrow bearing its spearpoint.
Threading through the hangar, Darrow greets Howlers and allies—Pebble in a wheelchair with Screwface, and Uncle Narol leading a sabotage mission against the Jackal’s deep-space comm relays. Darrow’s mother gifts him a box of Lykos soil, urging him to remember home, accept happiness, and return with Mustang. Mustang gently explains her fear is a mother’s.
At the ramp, Dancer hails “Helldiver,” and the hangar unites—Reds, Grays, Blues, and Obsidians raising fists in a shared pledge. Dancer bellows “Break the chains,” and Darrow lifts his own scarred fist before stepping aboard, committing to lead the Red Armada to war while their promise to the oppressed now demands delivery.
