For a week after Ragnar’s death, Darrow and Sefi fly across the ice, training Valkyrie with gravBoots and pulse arms, and escort Obsidian leaders through Asgard to view dead “gods.” Most accept the truth and join them; dissenters are overruled, some kill themselves, and one warlord, shown proof of a coup at home, returns to deliver twenty thousand warriors.

Ragnar’s legend as the “Speaker” spreads, and Darrow’s as the “Morning Star” begins binding rival clans. Anticipating Gold retaliation, Mustang leads counterintelligence and devises an audacious, twelve-hour migration using thousands of Quicksilver/Sons ships to relocate hundreds of thousands of Obsidians underground and move warriors to their fleet.

On the eighth day, Darrow, Sefi, Mustang, Holiday, and the wounded Cassius descend to Tinos with Ragnar’s body. The city, already strained, braces for Obsidian arrival. Sevro greets the Valkyrie in Nagal and, with Sefi’s blessing, cloaks and bears Ragnar through grieving crowds. Mustang departs for a strategy call with Dancer, Quicksilver, and Victra as Dancer arranges discreet custody for Cassius.

In Mickey’s lab, Darrow keeps vigil with Sevro as Ragnar’s body decays in power-starved Tinos. Sevro remembers Ragnar’s joy at Venus holos and their brotherhood; both curse Aja, whose trail has vanished. Darrow insists on sparing Cassius to let him choose the man he’ll be. Sevro warns of reprisals but reports a major victory: by infiltrating Martian Navy ships amid hacked broadcasts of Darrow’s speech, they triggered mutinies, seized warships, briefly dominated Mars’s south, then withdrew to Phobos, venting trapped loyalists as the Jackal prepares a new assault.

Weary, Sevro admits he longs for a safe, ordinary life. Darrow imagines the life he’d have lived with Eo and realizes their fight must serve the living and unborn. He tells Sevro, “We’re the light,” claiming purpose beyond vengeance as they ready the migration and looming battles.
