In spring 1959, Moira enjoys months of quiet happiness with Ernest, but the TRP is overwhelmed by a growing influx of timekeepers acting in Lisavet Levy’s name. Moira is repeatedly used to sift through captured timekeepers’ memories for any trace of Lisavet’s surviving child, then helps Jack erase the rebels’ convictions. Ernest is kept away from anything involving Lisavet, yet he keeps circling the truth as more timekeepers go missing.

After Ernest presses Jack about the disappearance of a French timekeeper (Jacques Blanchard), Jack and Ernest explode into a public fight. Jack reveals he has been promoted and intends to transfer Moira to a new satellite office in New York. Privately, Jack orders Moira to “clean up” Ernest by removing his curiosity about Lisavet Levy and erasing the morning’s confrontation from Ernest’s mind.

That night, Moira goes to Ernest’s apartment and unexpectedly meets Amelia early. Ernest confesses his doubts about the TRP’s mission and directly asks Moira whether she knows where the missing timekeepers go and whether Jack has ever mentioned Lisavet Levy. To stop Ernest from digging further, Moira gives vague answers and later erases Ernest’s memory of the argument, the name Lisavet Levy, and even the entire evening; she then tries to erase Amelia’s memories too.

The next morning at the office, Amelia unexpectedly remembers Moira from the night before, including the tea Moira made her, despite Moira’s attempted erasure. Jack intervenes, spins a cover story about a “spy serum,” and privately pressures Moira for an explanation. Moira lies about what she erased, but internally fears the real cause: Amelia may be becoming “untethered” from Time and resistant to Moira’s abilities, as Azrael warned.

Seeing Jack’s predatory focus on Amelia, Moira decides to end her relationship with Ernest to protect him and their child. Ernest tries to stop her and reveals he planned to propose, but Moira forces a clean break by claiming she has been sleeping with Jack. Later, Jack takes Moira to his apartment, coerces her into sex, and slips by calling her “Lisavet.” The next morning, Moira reads Jack’s sleeping mind, finds evidence of crimes in Okinawa, and blackmails him: she demands Ernest be reassigned, the TRP be moved to New York, and she be made director after Jack’s promotion. Jack agrees to promote her, move Ernest to Boston to lead a new “Office of Temporal Diplomacy,” relocate the TRP to New York, and give Moira a watch—but forbids her from entering the time space and threatens Ernest and Amelia if she disobeys.
