In Ari Sullivan’s house, Celia discovers Evelyn hiding in the laundry room after Ruby’s tip. Evelyn confronts Celia about rumors she sleeps with women and, driven by confusion and desire, impulsively kisses her. Celia briefly kisses back but pulls away, insisting they can’t stay there, and leaves.

Reeling, Evelyn searches upstairs and finds Don hurriedly dressing with another woman. She flees as Don tries to placate her, then ignores him when Harry arrives. Evelyn asks Harry to take her away; Don protests, but Harry drives off, tacitly siding with Evelyn.

During the drive, Evelyn tells Harry what she saw. Harry admits Don often pursues women he’s just met and says he wasn’t sure Evelyn knew or cared. They discuss keeping and sharing secrets; Evelyn hints she may share Harry’s “secret” to some degree and that Celia might as well. Harry takes her to his house for safety, where Evelyn resolves to leave Don. Harry cautions her to be prepared, warning their interests are not aligned and that the studio prioritizes keeping Don happy.

The next morning, Harry drives Evelyn home. Don is gone, and Evelyn realizes the marriage is effectively over. Celia is waiting at the door. Inside, Celia haltingly tries to explain her past, but Evelyn stops her, affirms nothing is wrong with her, admits she no longer loves Don and only thinks about Celia, and goes upstairs to pack her bags.
