After a supposed nuclear strike on Eros, Miller urges Holden’s crew not to follow CPM-directed evacuations. Amos opens a maintenance corridor where the group hides. Debating options, Holden and Miller’s curiosity wins; they plan a short reconnaissance while Naomi, Amos, and Alex remain in the tunnel as a fallback.

Moving with the crowds, Holden and Miller follow a group to a radiation shelter. With comms down, they confront a lone guard in fake riot gear and force him to open the sealed door. Inside, they glimpse a dark room full of unmoving bodies; gas spills out, and both men’s terminals blare radiation alarms as the guard collapses.

Reeling and already symptomatic, they infer the shelters are death traps: citizens are being gassed and irradiated to incubate the Phoebe pathogen that feeds on radiation. Retreating, they hide from another escorted group. Miller abruptly engages, shooting two fake cops with practiced precision, then orders the civilians to flee and avoid the ‘police.’

Low on time and health, Holden prioritizes reaching the Rocinante for anti-radiation meds. Miller, grim and resolute, expects more violence ahead but agrees. They set off, now certain Eros has become a deliberate incubator for the alien infection.
