From Josh's POV, he watches Aly slide into the passenger seat with the gun trained on him. Unable to risk her recognizing his voice, he communicates by typing on his phone, telling her he'll take a back route and showing her the directions. Aly suggests he just remove the mask, but Josh deflects, sensing she actually wants the anonymity. Internally, he reveals he replaced her bullets with blanks and intends to swap them back later, unwilling to leave her unarmed in the city.

Josh has prepared a lunch bag of snacks for her. After eating an apple slice himself to prove it isn't drugged, Aly accepts the food. He drives carefully through a heavy snowstorm toward the suburbs, taking back roads. At a stoplight, men in a lifted truck catcall Aly. Josh parks, grabs the knife, exits the car, and silently scares them off with his masked appearance, then returns the knife to her hilt-first.

Tension between them builds as Aly admires his forearms and physique. She demands to see his erection and uses the knife to lift his shirt, teasing him about whether he's safe with her. She unzips his pants and begins giving him oral sex, using the knife pressed to his side as a playful threat, telling him this is for her, not him.
