In chapter 19 of "The Library Myth" by Mayland Shelfborn, the protagonist, Livira, is navigating her way through an immense, seemingly endless library.
Livira realizes that the grandiose scale of the library dwarfs her knowledge as a trainee and is filled with a sense of astonishment and a bit of being overwhelmed.
In one section, Livira finds a claw, the abnormality of which causes her to think on what it's original owner might have been.
Upon finding clear, wide open spaces, Livira observes for the first time a humanoid statue, polished and potentially functional. Despite her attempts to interact with it, it remains inanimate.
As Livira continues to navigate the library, she notices it's structure seems to change from simple grand scale to purposeful convolution, resembling a maze. This causes her confusion and frustration.
Livira has a horrifying encounter with a large bird (possibly a raven or crow) that steals her map and flees followed by Livira.
