After the All-Star team dinner in Nashville, Ilya Rozanov returns to his hotel room buzzed and restless, frustrated that the league split the All-Star teams into North America vs. Europe to keep the Rozanov/Hollander rivalry in the spotlight. Ilya obsesses over Shane Hollander’s scoring lead and can’t stop thinking about their past hookup, even though he tells himself it should be forgotten.

The next day, the NHL schedules a joint press conference with only Shane and Ilya to feed media interest. Reporters push the “race to fifty goals” and team-legacy questions; Shane gives polished, team-first answers while Ilya offers short, blunt replies that get laughs. Under the table Ilya lightly taps Shane’s foot, and after the conference he drags his fingers across Shane’s palm, promising, suggestively, that they’ll see each other later.

At the All-Star Skills Competition, the league puts them head-to-head in shot accuracy. Ilya posts eight seconds, then taunts; Shane answers by breaking the record with 6.7 seconds, drawing a roaring crowd. Later by the bench, they trade small talk while circling each other, and Ilya quietly gives Shane a room number and time: “Twelve twenty-one.” Shane brushes off a teammate’s suspicion by calling it meaningless shit-talk.

After midnight, Shane arrives at Ilya’s room, nervous about being seen but unable to stay away. They kiss intensely and hook up again; Ilya tests how far Shane will go and admits what he wants, while Shane’s fear of exposure in a hotel full of players and media sets a limit.

They compromise by moving to the shower, using the running water to mask noise while they finish. When Shane tries to end it by insisting they “probably shouldn’t” do this again, Ilya takes Shane’s phone, enters his number under a fake name (“Lily”), and makes Shane save Ilya as “Jane,” confident Shane will agree next time. Shane leaves only after Ilya checks the hallway, and they part with tense, half-sincere good-luck wishes.
