After Freya’s abduction, Harald immediately launches a pursuit down the Rimstrom in his drakkar with the Nameless rowing and Bjorn aboard with Skade. The search feels agonizingly slow to Bjorn, who is consumed by the fear that Freya has been taken beyond his reach.

To improve their chances of hearing any sign of Freya, Bjorn orders the drummer to stop. As Bjorn lights the way with his axe and scans the river ahead, Harald warns that if Snorri is involved, Freya may already have been forced under the oath’s control. Bjorn insists that Freya’s will is her own, but he also blames himself for not binding her to him and silently resolves to kill Snorri if Freya has been turned into a weapon.

Harald sends Skoll and Hati to track Freya from the riverbanks, using the wolves’ rune-given understanding to direct the hunt. The boat is empty, but Freya’s sword and seax lie abandoned in the mud, proving she was disarmed and likely incapacitated. When Skoll signals toward the woods and Hati joins him, Bjorn orders the wolves to keep tracking and ignores Harald’s call as he runs after them into the forest.
