Sophia arrives in a blue Range Rover and blocks Jet’s truck, furious that Jet told Luke about Sophia’s pill use. Jet and Billy confront Sophia with what they have learned: Sophia drugged her father-in-law to keep him from discovering Luke’s fraud, and Luke’s actions also tied to Henry Lim’s accident and bills. Sophia defends Luke as “saving” the company, while Jet argues Luke’s scams likely provoked the fire that destroyed Mason Construction.

When Jet orders Sophia to move her car, Sophia threatens consequences and turns on Billy, choosing to hurt Jet by targeting Billy’s deepest wound. Sophia tells Billy that Jet is the reason Beth Finney abandoned him, claiming Jet guilted Beth into changing Jet’s grade in high school. Jet tries to stop Sophia and then admits the truth: Jet pressured Beth to raise an extra-credit grade, invoking Emily and suggesting that if Billy’s dad had checked on Emily and Luke that day, Emily might still be alive.

Billy, crushed, confirms Beth did change the grade and realizes Jet kept this from him for years. Feeling betrayed and devastated, Billy backs away and leaves, refusing Jet’s attempt to reach for him. Jet lashes out at Sophia with a cold wish that Sophia will always be unhappy, then runs after Billy, determined not to lose him.

Before Jet can catch up, a police car blocks her path. The police chief, with Jack Finney, announces Jet is being arrested on suspicion of second-degree arson. Panicking and desperate because her time is running out, Jet resists, shoves the chief, and bolts.

Jet leads police on a frantic chase through streets, parking lots, fences, and alleys, trying to reach Billy and keep control of her last hours. Cornered in an alley, Jet attempts to climb a fire escape, but the chief grabs her, slams her against the wall, handcuffs her, and formally reads her rights as the arrest is finalized.
