They reach a vast bat‑filled cavern and skirt a sea of guano where a knight, Crastus, is shot and consumed by withertails. To stop Alexandar from a futile rescue, Lysander fires into the ceiling to loose the bats, using the chaos to escape. At a limestone chamber where the map seems wrong, Lysander deduces the route continues underwater via bioluminescent pools.

The fugitives swim into a hidden grotto, find stashed gravBikes, sabotage the rest, and lash the Fear Knight to Drusilla’s bike. Alexandar orders a high‑speed run south, broadcasting “Pup One to Howler One…we have Anteater.” Snipers reach across kilometers to kill Ignacius, and Gorgons swarm from buttes and valleys, herding them with railgun fire and orbital beams. Alexandar flies like a demon, leading pursuers into a particle strike and threading canyons toward the open desert.

As stims fade and sunset falls, only three bikes remain. Grimmus mechanized troops and ripWings block Heliopolis. Alexandar’s voice cracks on the com—then Darrow answers: “Howler One to Pup One…LongMalice deployed.” Artillery rips the enemy line and mauls the pursuing bikes, forcing a narrow, smoke‑choked corridor.

Lysander focuses his Mind’s Eye to weave through the bombardment. They burst from the smoke to a hovering heavy shuttle; the bikes crash aboard amid debris. Drusilla is impaled by shrapnel, Lysander dislocates his shoulder, and engines lift them clear. The scene ends with Darrow—the Reaper—standing over them, ordering retreat, as Atlas remains their living prize.
