Olive lies to Harvard’s biology secretary to locate Adam during his interview dinner, then steels herself in an Uber, where the driver’s blunt advice pushes her to choose truth over fear. Determined to act before Adam’s decision, she heads to the restaurant despite her nerves.

Inside, Adam immediately leaves the table to check on Olive. Tom intrudes, minimizing her request for privacy and leveraging Adam’s candidacy to pressure compliance. Olive answers by playing the recording of Tom’s harassment, exposing his insults, coercion, and threats in front of witnesses.

As the audio reveals Tom’s abuse and belittling of Olive’s work, Adam realizes Tom was the reason Olive was crying at SBD. When Tom lunges for the phone, Adam pins him against the wall and growls, “If you say another word about the woman I love… I’m going to fucking kill you.” A crowd gathers; Olive urges Adam to stop, and he releases Tom.

An elderly Harvard administrator demands an explanation. Adam first comforts Olive, apologizing and asking her to send the recording. He then turns to the administrator, insisting on a private discussion and ordering that Tom be kept away.

Adam promises Olive he will take care of the situation and then take care of her. He leaves with the administrator to address Tom’s misconduct formally, risking his interview standing to ensure Olive’s safety and justice.
