At a rundown bar, Cole, already drinking, tries to lure Hutch into a pinball contest and then presses for a drinking contest, despite Hutch’s sobriety. When Cole escalates by offering a kiss from Katie as the prize, several men respond. Hutch steps between the men and Katie, and, to prevent further harassment, agrees to the drinking contest.

Cole explains makeshift “field sobriety” rules: alternating shots and heel-to-toe line walks, with Katie judging. Because Cole had already been drinking, he fails the test dramatically, while Hutch remains composed and wins. Cole then urges Hutch to claim the “prize” and kiss Katie; Hutch refuses repeatedly, making clear that consent belongs to Katie.

A drunk older patron volunteers to kiss Katie for money and then for free, prompting Cole to refuse and get punched. As the man begins kicking Cole, Hutch intervenes, restraining the attacker with a controlled hold, calmly orders a taxi with the bartender, and asserts, “No one is kissing the girl,” emphasizing that kissing is Katie’s decision and, by extension, a universal standard of consent.

Katie and the bartender haul a dazed Cole outside while Hutch escorts the attacker into a taxi. Hutch and Katie then support Cole on the walk back. During the walk, Katie thanks Hutch for rescuing her; Hutch downplays it but insists she underestimates how much attention she draws. He calls her “unforgettable” in a metaphor-laced admission of attraction that he simultaneously frames as impossible. Cole half-wakes to taunt that he knew Hutch liked her; Hutch denies it and warns Cole to stop.

They return to the Starlite, where Rue and The Gals are still up. Seeing Cole bruised and drunk, Rue confirms Hutch did not cause the injury. Hutch asks Rue to tend to Cole and requests a designated driver, and Rue gives Hutch her car, acknowledging he won the contest as expected.
