Overview
Mission reaches Supply hoping to intercept Cam and use Wyck's delivery to move closer to Rodny, but Joyce tells Mission the package has already gone six levels lower. Before Mission can catch up, a violent explosion destroys part of the stairwell near level 116, killing or dropping several people and exposing a fire inside the silo. Mission runs toward the wreckage to help, only to have a terrified survivor accuse Mission of causing the disaster.
Summary
Mission makes record time heading down the silo, hoping to catch Cam and use Wyck's delivery as a way to get closer to Rodny. At Supply, Mission does not find Cam, so Mission asks for Joyce, the worker handling special IT equipment. Joyce says the delivery under Wyck's name has already been sent out six levels lower, and Mission lies that the other porter had to leave because his mother is dying in order to learn where it went.
After hearing the delivery is headed to a residential level on Mission's route to Mechanical, Mission hurries on and starts planning how to use Cam, the delivery, or a future IT request to get through security and reach Rodny in time. Mission is still working through those options when a sudden blast rips through the stairwell. The force throws Mission against the railing, tears a landing loose below, and sends multiple people falling into the depths.
Although Mission first thinks of retreating upward, Mission chooses to help instead. Mission gets a frightened woman to her feet and sends her toward safety, then pushes downward through smoke and panicked traffic while calling for Cam. Mission reaches the damaged section near level 116 and finds the landing gone, the doorway blasted open, steel twisted outward, and fire burning inside the exposed structure while people beyond the rubble cough, shout, and scream for help.
From above, bystanders lower a fire hose and shout for a porter to take it, apparently expecting Mission to help direct it into the burning opening. Mission edges onto the bent steps and looks up, unsure how to reach the hose or what exactly is being demanded. Then a shaken female survivor spots Mission's chief badge and screams that "the porter did it," abruptly turning Mission from rescuer into a target of blame.
